Wow, I'm really glad I didn't post a guess this morning, because I was torn between - no, I can't say, it's too embarrassing. Suffice it to say, neither bird was a warbler, nor were they even in the same basic group. :O
If the answer is one of the 4 posted already, I am going to go with Cape May, only because I trust Ethan implicitly. (Ethan, dude - don't let me down!)
Your bird quizzes just keep getting harder! I'll put in a third guess for Blackpoll warbler, but I don't see how in this pose you can tell Blackpoll warbler from Bay-breasted warbler.
Is it a Blackburnian warbler?
ReplyDeleteI'll say Cape May Warbler.
ReplyDelete-Ethan Kistler
I'll throw out a guess: Black-throated Green Warbler
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go with Blackpoll Warbler.
ReplyDeleteOne of you is correct. Any second opinions out there?
ReplyDeleteThese are getting tougher! I feel like I'm looking at 'Hidden Pictures' in Highlites magazine! So I guess it's not an ivory-billed, eh?
ReplyDeleteI'll second Eva's motion: Black-throated Green?

~Kathi, failing miserably at the bird quizzes
It's a blackpoll warbler.

ReplyDeleteWow, my initial guess was wrong, apparently.
ReplyDeleteSo I'll go with Blackpoll Warbler.
Oooo, I know this one! It's the elusive Sideways-eating green-backed warbler!
ReplyDeleteIt's a warbler?
