Shining Through

Afternoon sun, end of July
still air filled with cicadas' whine.
On the windowsill, objects collected from this life
a wire bird, macaw feather,
box turtle sculpture,
the empty vase of an indigo hue
all catch the sun shining through.
You point out this moment of light
and give it to me
to capture
and to keep.

  1. I'm not much on poetry Bill, but I really like this.

  2. I LOVE how you can just make out the blue in the indigo blue vase.
