Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs

Here are three new additions to my ever-expanding collection of inane, insane, sometimes profane signs. And, no, we are not making these up.

What's the fun in trespassing if you've got a permit?
Special thanks to Rondeau Ric for this one.

Italians are among the most socail people I've ever met. This ought to be really fun!

Either "Redneck" or "Hayseed" would have done it for me. But having both labels on this fine vehicle is just gilding the lily.

I wish I had my camera yesterday.

I saw an older truck, stuffed full of furniture and other odd items. Sandford and Son style.

On the tailgate it said, "Got Deer?"

  3. My current favorite is a bumper sticker I saw on a big old Ford Explorer.
It read "Tread Gently on Mother Earth". No kidding.
Were they trying to be ironic? I seriously doubt it.

  4. I once saw a working van with a bumper sticker that has the words "Piping Plover taste like chicken" on it, strange.

  5. Brent: That was just another banner in the culture wars. There are those who would protect an endangered species like the plover, and those who would rather see them extint so they can have free access to the beach with their 4x4's.

  6. Sign we have seen on side of bldg in one of the small eastern Wyoming towns we sometimes drive through advertises that they have stuffed prairie dogs, jackalopes and "rattlesnaks". We are never quite sure if those are for displaying on your mantel or munching on. In great red big letters on the side of their bldg.

  7. Bill,

If you haven't seen this one before here's another sign for your collection:

I photographed this sign in front of the Exit Glacier Salmon Bake Restaurant near Seward, AK in June of 2005.

Here's another view with the restaurant in the background:

    Enjoy!

  8. I saw a sign once that read, "No trespassing after dark." Guess it's OK to trespass during the day.
