Notice how the wings on the middle bird seemed to be blanketing the corpse of the vulnerable bird. It may even appear so much to seem that he is attempting to covet it as its own. The displeasure in the top most bird is apparent and such pursues the other male from the rear. Now what I find peculiar, is the fact that the bottom bird does nothing to thwart off attack.

It was nice that you were able to obtain such a great angle of the interaction. It will be amazing to see what you come out with next.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2552045987668023231.post-52219437783047497112006-02-02T13:09:00.000-05:002006-02-02T13:09:00.000-05:00Amazing! Since many swallow species nest on freeway overpasses, and are commonly killed by cars, you'd think such behavior would be well documented if it were very common. From now on, I'm keeping my eyes wide open around the onramps! Thanks for the post!cpbvkhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02526786631222320968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2552045987668023231.post-42732083071959895922006-02-02T09:14:00.000-05:002006-02-02T09:14:00.000-05:00Wow. If birds were more olfactory one might think that perhaps some scent lead to it, but it seems unlikely.Clarehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03006398489303673016noreply@blogger.com
