Great birds, but OH! - that wet, windy weather is not my style. (shiver)

Yesterday must have been the day for Snow Geese to be on the move in Ohio. There were 4 reports on the Cincinnati Bird Club web site on Sat, describing at least 3 different flocks. The Clermont County Parks Winter Bird Count group (reporter, Keith Robinson) got a flock of 38 flying over Chilo Lock #34/Crooked Run Nature Preserve in the morning. (SE Clermont Co., on the Ohio River)

Donald Morse Jr. had "a flock of 30 fly over Washington Twp. Park, (The park is located on St. Rt. 756) in Southern Clermont Co., heading west at about 3:30pm, including at least 1 blue phase."

Ginny Fanetti saw "a flock of about 40 flying over her home in east-central Clermont County, heading west-southwest at about 4:35 p.m. Most were white phase, but there were about 10 blue phase." And Tom Uhlman reported "A flock of 30+/- snow geese flew over {Northside Cincinnati}, prob the same ones seen over clermont co." (time not specified)

The same thing happened last month with a flurry of reports of flocks of Sandhill Cranes all moving on the same day. Is this typical?

~Kathikatdocnoreply@blogger.com
