Here's the image we've selected for the Bill of the Birds Caption Contest #14.
Submit your clever caption via the comments box below before Sunday, July 11, 2010 at midnight. Our vast panel of judges, laugh-mongers, and funny-bone specialists will select a winner on Monday afternoon, July 12, 2010. The creator of the winning caption will receive a copy of The Peterson Field Guide to the Birds of North America.
If you are new to this caption contest concept, OR if you are an Interwebs newbie, OR if you merely want to see what our panel thinks is funny, click on the Caption Contest category in the Labels line at the end of this post. That will link you to all of our previous posts that featured Caption Contests.
Perhaps this will help you get your caption-writing mojo working: I took this image a few weeks ago in Yellowstone National Park. The bird is a common raven. The women were sharing a sandwich.
Good luck to one and all!

The bird eyed the pair with an experienced eye. The signs were clear - sandwich clutched firmly, food in lap covered by an arm, everything else squeezed into the narrow gap between them to block access. Clearly this was not their first outdoor lunch in raven country.
Birders...they're "raven" lunatics!
They drove up in a Subaru Forester. With my luck, they're gonna be vegetarians.
I love sandwich shops that deliver. Hope they remembered the mustard.
Oh, great there's bread! This is a chance to use my frightening bread hunting call, here goes...."CAW"RB! "CAW"RB!!
Quoth the raven, "Gimme a s'more".
Erik Bruder: Dude never gives the rest of us a snowball's chance. Prizehog.
Once upon a mountain airy, while I lunched, on tuna and Sobe berry,
Over many a pint and Peterson guide we all adore,
While I plotted, carefully mapping, suddenly there came a flapping,
As of some one stridently vamping, vamping on the blacktop floor.
“Tis some scoundrel,” I uttered, “hoping for my albacore”,
Only puns, and nothing more.
Hey! Your sandwich is bigger! I got rooked!
Ebony and Ivories... Live together in perfect harmony!
"HELLOOO…how many birders does it take to unpack a lunch??? Obviously more than two. Better not be chicken again…"
Eric, dude!!
Awesome.
Loki, the shape shifter considers going bear in order to get the sandwich.
In "The Raven's Guide to Tourists", Rule #1 states "Act disinterested. Soon they will throw food in a desperate need for attention."
overheard as the raven plotted his attack..."I want the bag in the middle."
Huh, call themselves birders, they're supposed to be looking at ME.
"HEY YOU over there, da dee dee da da, look at me, I'm a raven, I'm a raven."
"Who could have taken our silverware?" exclaimed Fran and Edna.
Three-day-old rotten sammies from the trash can? Quoth the raven, with a chuckle,....."Nevermore"
I hope they are having Raven Bran.

OK, this one's obscure unless you've read Celtic mythology or have been to the Tower of London.
