Dawn, Cerro Azul

From the overlook, dawn breaking like soft rain
the humid, warming earth heaves skyward its misty breath.
Smaller hills like sleeping bodies peek above the blanketing white.
Squeak-buzz of hummingbirds, tinamou whistles, toucan croaks
and this forest of rain—this jewel-filled jungle—launches itself unquietly into another day.

Beautiful, B. It reminds me of the city waking up--honking horns, shrilling sirens, car alarms...only much, much nicer.

Well, it seems ncmountainwoman already took "breath-taking"... so I'll just say "wow". At least there is beauty to be enjoyed when you are so far away from home.

Wow, what a gorgeous view! That sight would be worth the early morning climb, birds or no birds. (Of course, that white hawk you posted earlier wasn't anything to sneeze at, either.)

Thanks for sharing, Bill. I hope your trip continues to provide such wonderful treasures!
